The rise of the dreaded petrol and utility bills 😭

Posted by on January 11, 2022

Prices are skyrocketing, and there is a diddly-squat the people can do about it, although we can get smarter with how we earn and spend without completely cutting out the good times.

If you are using your car daily this one surely won't put a smile on your face, petrol prices pre-covid were roughly at 1.11 per litre to now more than 1.40 per litre, which is the highest it's been in a decade, and UK fuel prices could reach an all-time high in early 2022, with experts predicting pump prices to hit 1.50 per litre, our UK government could soften the blow by reducing the dreaded tax, if you didn't know this already, tax currently makes up 57% of the total fuel cost in the UK, with 20% of this being vat. It doesn't just stop there, gas and electricity bills needed to operate our homes are unfortunately in talks to triple in cost in 2022 unless our government steps in with a fund or a vat holiday. It's not the best feeling working long hours to chase rising prices which drives us to cut out the finer things in life.

A spokesperson from enjoystevie, the discount platform, said we spoke to 1000 UK adults, and research has shown that 56% are now working more than one job or a side hustle to bring in extra cash due to inflation, 34% has turned to make money outside of their 9 to 5 job due to rising utility and petrol prices, and 15% are doing it to achieve a better lifestyle.

enjoystevie have also mentioned they will be partnering with many more restaurants, fun experiences, gifting, and even many practical discounts due to inflations, they are currently working closely with the likes of the AA, Sky TV, Odeon Cinemas, Turtle Bay, and many more brands, enjoystevie believe having a huge variety of hospitality and practical discounts can help contribute to keeping on a budget whilst being able to still have a little fun or getting cheaper deals on some of those dreaded practical bills we hate to pay.
