No.4 Clifton Village Ambassador Review
''Beautiful flavours and delicious concepts all served in perfect style. A true foodie haven for Bristol!''
★★★★☆
If you are passing through Clifton, you may not notice No.4 Clifton Village nestled away in its quiet little cul-de-sac off the main busy road. I must have driven past it a thousand times before I realised it was there myself.

The restaurant is part of a lovely row of buildings full of history, charm, and character. I had the pleasure of visiting here for the first time last Friday and I can happily confirm it will be the first of many visits.
To start I had the baked goats cheese with a hazelnut crust. It was everything I hoped for and more, I just loved the crunchy texture of the crushed hazelnuts that encased the warm goat's cheese filling. This dish also came with the smallest pickled onions I have ever had placed on top, they were sweet, tangy and a great pairing for this dish.
For my main, I opted for the sirloin steak (medium rare) with triple cooked chips and slow-roasted tomatoes. It came to the table presented beautifully and tasted just as good as it looked. The steak was perfectly medium rare, pink and tender inside and of course, very well seasoned. The triple cooked chips lived up to my expectations and were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, just to my liking.

My dinner date for the evening chose a vegan starter of butternut squash, followed by the Hake for her main, a delicious taste from both dishes. Top marks on from both of us on the food.

Something that stood out for me during my visit was how good the service was here. The staff that we met were all friendly and attentive. Our waiter made us feel welcomed and that nothing was too much trouble.
If you are ever in Clifton Village, then it's certainly worth seeking this lovely dining spot. The food was delicious, the venue was quaint and stylish, the perfect recipe for a romantic dinner date.
